Registration: Upon acceptance to the Program, a non-refundable fee of 225,00 euros is required to hold your place.

Payment Options

Beyond the registration fee, 50% of tuition is due the first day of class. The balance is due the first day of class in January. Students will not be permitted to attend unless on-time payment is made. *If the entire tuition is paid the first day of class, the student will receive 450 euros reduction in tuition.

Program Schedule

The Pilates Teacher Training Program is 10 months long and requires weekly attendance at Pilates Performance studio of approximately 12 hours: 3 hours seminar 3 hours observation/assisting/student teaching 3 hours group exercise with Francesca 2 hours self-practice in the studio 1 hour homework minimum


Weeks run from Friday – Thursday from October 20th, 2023 to August 10th, 2024
The following are holiday/vacation weeks:
December 22 – January 11 Christmas holiday
March 25 – April 4 Easter holiday
* 2 week break at the end of the course before final exams

Completion Requirements

Minimum 450 hours as detailed above including homework, quizzes and case studies. The final exam will consist of a written exam and a practical component.

Attendance Requirements

Students are expected to arrive on time and with proper materials and attire. An overall attendance rate of 100% is required. There are no options to make up missed material.

Progress Policy

Ms Bertoni retains the right to terminate a student by December 1 if the student’s progress is unsatisfactory. If tuition is pre-paid in full, the balance starting January 1 will be refunded to the student. A student is entitled to withdraw before December 1. If tuition is pre-paid in full, the balance starting January 1 will be refunded to the student. Withdrawals after December 1 will not be refunded.

Facilities and Services

Pilates Performance Studio is located at via degli artisti 6a, 50132 Florence, Italy. It is a fully equipped Pilates studio with 2 Universal Reformers, 2 Trapeze Tables, 1 DLP High Back Chair, one Wunda Chair, 1 Ladder Barrel and 1 Spine Corrector as well as mats and small props.

School Conduct Policy

Students are expected to act in a respectful, mature and professional manner at all times with their teachers, peers and clients. Students are expected to follow observation, practice teaching, and studio protocols when applicable.



Deborah is one of the world’s foremost Pilates leaders. She is committed to maintaining the standard of teaching created by Joseph Pilates, passed on to Carola Strauss Trier and then directly to Deborah Lessen, with integrity, competence, discipline and passion. Through this standard, Deborah Lessen continues the Pilates tradition by teaching the original syllabus with stimulating additions as the discipline and knowledge evolve over time.

Francesca has been teaching Pilates since 2007. In 2011 she met Deborah during a workshop in London. She has since maintained a close collaboration with Deborah, attending workshops and private mentoring in New York and Europe and organizing teacher workshops at her studio in Florence, Pilates Performance. Francesca has been training teachers to work in her studio for many years
